Investment awards
2008
- The Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust won the UK Smaller Companies category at the Investment Week Investment Trust Awards 2008 based on its consistent net asset value performance over the three years to 31 July 2008.
- In September 2008, Standard Life Investments was awarded a gold ranking at the Ethical Investment Association (EIA) Transparency Awards, in recognition of its adherence to the European SRI Transparency Guidelines on green and ethical investment issues.
- In August 2008 and for the second year running, the UK Equities Team won the 'Citywire Team All Stars Asset Group Winner - UK Equities at the Citywire Team All Stars Awards. Harry Nimmo, Head of UK Smaller Companies, won the ‘Best UK Smaller Companies Manager’ title.
- Thomas Moore of the UK Larger Companies team was ranked 1st in the Thomson Reuters Extel Pan-European survey 2008 for the Speciality & Other Financial sector.
- Standard Life Investments' UK Smaller Companies Fund won the ‘UK Smaller Companies’ category at the Investment Week Awards 2008.
- Standard Life Investments won both the ‘Best Private Equity Trust’ and ‘Best UK Small Companies Trust’ at the Money Observer Investment Trust Awards 2008. The Standard Life European Private Equity Trust PLC came first out of 15 trusts in the private equity sector, with the Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust PLC beating 21 other trusts in the UK Smaller Companies sector.
- In June 2008, Standard Life Investments won a 5 Star Award in the Investment category at the FTAdviser Online Service Awards.
- In April 2008, Standard Life Investments won the ‘Multi-Asset Manager of the Year’ Award at the UK Pensions Awards 2008.
- Standard Life Investments UK Smaller Companies Fund won the Small Cap Fund of the Year at the Growth Company Awards 2008.
- In March 2008 the Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust Plc won the Moneywise ‘Best Small Companies Trust’ category for the second year running.
- Harry Nimmo, backed by his award-winning UK Smaller Companies team, was ranked Citywire’s Number One Fund Manager of the Year 2008.
- Standard Life Investments won the ‘Best Overall Group Lipper Award’ in the ‘Non UK Equity Large’ category at the Lipper Fund Awards 2008.
- Standard Life Investments' UK Smaller Companies Fund won the UK Smaller Companies fund sector category at the Trustnet Awards 2008.
2007
- Standard Life won a Special Achievement award for gaining the ‘Investment Provider’ and ‘Life & Pensions’ 5-Star Awards for 12 consecutive years at the annual Financial Adviser Service Awards 2007.
- In October, Standard Life Investments picked up the ‘UK Asset Management Firm of the Year’ award at the Financial News Awards for Excellence in Institutional Asset Management – Europe 2007.
- In August 2007 picked up two awards in the Citywire Team All Stars Awards 2007. Standard Life Investments’ UK Equities Team was named 'Citywire Team All Stars Asset Group Winner - UK Equities' and 'Citywire Team All Stars Sector Winner - UK All Companies'
- In July 2007, Standard Life Investments won the Investment Week Awards' top title - ‘Global Group of the Year’. Designed to recognise and reward strength of performance across a provider’s range of mutual funds, Standard Life Investments was drawn from a short-list of six fund management groups including Invesco Perpetual, Jupiter Unit Trust Managers, M&G Investments, New Star Asset Management and Old Mutual Asset Managers.
- Standard Life Investments won a 5 Star Award in the Investment Provider & Packager category at the FTAdviser Online Service Awards 2007.
- In May 2007, Standard Life Investments won the ‘Active UK Equity Manager of the Year’ title at the Pension & Investment Provider Awards (PIPA) 2007.
- Standard Life Investments won the title of 'Investment Manager of the Year' and 'Specialist Manager of the Year (UK Equities)' at the UK Pensions Awards 2007. Standard Life Investments was selected for each award by a panel of industry experts based on innovation, communication, performance and service standards.
- Our UK Smaller Companies Fund scooped the 'Best Performing Smaller Companies Fund Award' at the PLC Awards 2007. The fund qualified for the award based on its performance during the year to 31st December 2006 in which it returned over 43% to investors versus a sector average return of 24%. (Standard & Poor’s Micropal, bid-bid, 31/12/05 – 31/12/06)
- Standard Life Investments scooped two 'Best Overall Group Awards' at the Lipper Fund Awards 2007 in the 'Equity Large' and 'UK Equity Large' categories. The awards recognised the consistently strong risk-adjusted performance of our funds relative to our peers over the three year period up to 31st December 2006.
2006
- The Edinburgh Small Companies Trust Plc, managed by Standard Life Investments, won the Moneywise "Best Small Companies Trust" category for 2006. The award was based on performance, manager skill, investment strategy, resources, prospects and pricing.
- Standard Life Investments won the 'Investment Provider 5-Star Award' for the 11th consecutive year at the Financial Adviser Service Awards 2006 (November 2006)
- In October 2006, Standard Life Investments won 'UK Equity Manager of the Year' at the Financial News 'Awards for Excellence in Institutional Asset Management - Europe 2006'.
- Standard Life Investments won the 'What Investment' Unit Trust Manager of the Year Award for its UK Smaller Companies Fund - based on its consistent out-performance over the last year. Managed by Harry Nimmo, Head of UK Smaller Companies, the fund provided investors with a return of 45.4% versus a sector average return of 25.4% (Source: Trustnet over one year until 31st March 2006, bid-to-bid, net income reinvested.)
- The Standard Life European Private Equity Trust (SLEPET) was named 'Best Private Equity Trust' in the Investment Trusts Magazine Awards for 2005. The award was for the outstanding performance of SLEPET, which delivered a total share price return of 63.9% in 2005.
- In April 2006, Standard Life Investments was named 'Property Manager of the Year 2006' at the Professional Pensions Awards. The accolade was for product innovation, fund performance and client servicing
- In March 2006, Standard Life Investments won 1st place in the 'UK Marketed Class - Ethical/SRI Europe Sector' over five years and out of 15 funds for the outstanding performance of its OEIC UK Ethical Fund at the Standard & Poor's UK Fund Awards.
- Standard Life Investments won 'Best Fund Group over three years - UK Equity', in the large group category, at the Lipper Citywire All Stars Awards 2006
2005
- Our AAA Cash Fund's euro and sterling sub funds were the top and joint top performing money market funds respectively in 2005, according to the Offshore Money Fund Report Awards (a service of iMoneyNet)
- Standard Life Investments achieved a unique accolade by winning the 'Investment Provider 5-Star Award' for the tenth successive year at the Financial Adviser Service Awards Dec 2005
- Standard Life Investments won a double strike at the Standard & Poor's UK Fund Awards 2005 coming 1st in the 'Ten Year UK Individual Pensions Class (ABI) Property Sector' for the 4th consecutive year and 1st in the 'One Year UK Marketed Class Fixed Income GBP Sector' for our Higher Income Fund
- Our Strategic Solutions team scooped 1st place in the Alternative Investment Manager of the Year category at the Professional Pensions 2005 Awards. In addition to this, our UK Institutional team won the Pooled Manager of the Year award
2003
